ENVIRONMENT

We depend on the environment. It is our home and provider. It is our inspiration and teacherYet we are destroying it in our drive for economic growth. Rainforests once represented 14% of the earth's land, now they have dwindled to 6%. Innumerable species of animals, from leopard to tapir, are being stripped of their habitats and pushed towards extinction. Developing nations often value economic growth over concern for the environment.

We must halt this slide before it is too late. We need to demand change from the powers that be, and from ourselves. We can challenge those who exploit sensitive environments. As consumers, citizens and voters, we must make our voice heard.

After one look at this planet any visitor from outer space would say "I want to see the manager.”
