Art, culture and recreation are outlets for people to open their minds, develop skills, gain self-confidence, socialize, exercise and even find a career. Often, it is the poorest in society that are excluded from life-enhancing aspects of culture. Art and culture should be a part of all of our lives. Help people to enrich their lives and the whole of society benefits.
If the use of leisure time is confined to looking at TV for a few extra hours every day, we will deteriorate as a people.
