CRIME AND JUSTICE
Society needs laws to protect and preserve it. Yet, law without justice is tyranny. A difficult balance must be found where the legal system deters and punishes criminal behavior but does so fairly – justly. There must be limits, principles and regulations governing the justice system, otherwise it can result in the very injustice it is there to prevent.
Active and informed citizens are needed who will ask questions about the s\justice system. Is it working? Is it fair? How can it be improved? How can victims be helped? How can recidivism be reduced? What makes it work, its spirit, is us.
